Horizontal Blinds In Different Materials

Horizontal blinds are a versatile and often economical window covering made from a variety of different materials. Slats range from ½" micro blinds, to 1" mini or 2" macro sizes.

Aluminum venetian blinds are available in 6, 8 or 9 gauge aluminum - the higher the number the less likely they are to bend or become dented. An array of textures and finishes gives home decorators numerous options.

Popular vinyl blinds come value priced or in high end designer styles with embossed prints. They are suitable for humid areas such as the bathroom or kitchen.

For character order horizontal window blinds manufactured from hardwoods with a tough finish in cherry, pine, oak or ash. Affordable faux wood has a natural look, is easy to maintain and won't warp, fade or crack.

For room darkening and privacy just open and close the blinds with cords and tilt wands. It is important to use these to regulate the amount of light instead of bending or separating slats. Once a metal slat has been bent it cannot be straightened and the blinds will need to be restrung for proper horizontal alignment.
